Deceased Name: CORDUA, LOUISE COLLETTE
Born August 4, 1919 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, died on December 29,2004, in San Diego. She had suffered with Parkinson's Disease for fifteen years. She graduated from Shadey Side Nursing School and Duquesne University. After school, she enlisted in the United States Army, where she reached the rank of captain and served as a nurse during WWII. It was there that she first met her husband of 58 years, Dr. Harney M. Cordua, Jr. She was a devoted wife and mother to him and their three children, Harn, Cynthia and Christopher. She loved dabbling in gardening, traveling, antiquing and cooking. She was the one "straight man" in a family of five. She prided herself on being very frugal financially aware, and an astute business woman. She will be missed dearly, but we are glad her suffering has ended. She is survived by her husband, three children and their spouses, six grandchildren, two sisters and one brother. To honor her, spend time with your family, be kind to someone whose path you cross, and/or give to your favorite charity. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 7, 4:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 2111 Camino del Rio South, San Diego. Please sign the guest book at obituaries.uniontrib.com
