Elmina was the daughter of Benjamin Poliquin & Clarisse Roger who immigrated with their children in 1885 to Rhode Island. Here in the US, she was known as Almina.

She was baptised Marie Louise Elmina Poliquin in the parish Notre-Dame-de-la-Victoire, Lévis, Québec, Canada the same day she was born.

She and husband Ercole married 5 Aug 1885 in St. Charles Church, Providence, RI.

They lived in various places at various times - Plattsburgh, NY; Barre, VT; Lowell, MA; Middleborough, MA and by 1900 were in RI with Elmina's widowed father Benjamin.

Later, they lived in Quincy, MA where Ercole owned a business named Cavicchi Polishing Machine Company in Dorchester, MA.

Elmina was the mother of Minnie, Joseph Lewis, twins Roy & Roland, Charles William, Florence M, Mildred F, and an unnamed infant boy who died shortly after birth.
