Mrs. Mary White Bailey, 63, wife of S. M. Bailey, of Cherokee Falls, died suddenly about 5 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the family residence following a period of several months of declining health.
A member of the Church of God at Cherokee Falls, Mrs. Bailey had lived in that community 21 years. She was a native of North Carolina.
Funeral services were conducted at 4 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Cherokee Falls Church of God by the Rev. Ralph Wilbanks and the Rev. Robert Barnes. Interment was in the Mount Tabor Presbyterian church cemetery in Union county near Lockhart with the Craft Funeral Home, morticians, in charge.
The pall bearers were Ervin Blackwell, Roy, James and Floyd White, Floyd Shackleford and Andrew Tilson.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bailey is survived by four sons, Isaac, Joseph, Moore and Henry Bailey, of Cherokee Falls; four sisters, Mrs. Jim Carroll, Mrs. Callie Moss and Mrs. Maggie Jenkins, of Blacksburg, and Mrs. Alfred Blackwell, of Gaffney; and four brothers, Ed and Columbus White, of Cherokee Falls, and E. M. and Bill White, of Gaffney.
