Fred Stone Baker was the eighth of the 11 children born to America Holton (Thompson) and Daniel Ayres Baker. In 1902 when Fred was 3 years old the Baker family (now numbering nine children) moved permanently from Hartford City, Indiana to Colfax, Washington. Here Fred attended local schools in Whitman County.

Fred was married in Colfax on August 11, 1924 to Sarah Loretta Richardson, daughter of Richard Talbert and Lela Pearl (Hodges) Richardson of Pullman, Washington.

They immedicately moved to the Los Angeles area and had two sons, Daniel Richard (1925) and Robert Earl (1928) Baker.

Died at age 68 years, 2 months.

Fred is a grandson of Mary Elizabeth (Ford) & Capt. Joseph Moran Thompson of Wabash, Indiana; and a gr-grandson of Dr. James & America (Holton) Ford of Wabash, Indiana.
