James S. Brown, 95, of 470 W. Oley St., was dead on arrival Tuesday afternoon at 4:39 in Reading Hospital. His wife, Stella M. (Werner) Brown, died in 1979.
Born in Reading he was a son of the late Howard and Emma (Boyer) Brown. Brown had been employed in the maintenance department by the former Reading Bus Co, now BARTA, for 37 years, retiring in 1959. He is a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are a son, Richard J. Brown, at home, and a daughter, Thelma, wife of John E. Souders, Pottstown.
Also a stepson, Elwood T. Erkert, Reading R.D. 10; 11 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
