Clarmont "Babe" Schlesinger, 85, of Mendota died May 5, 2006, in Manor Court, Peru.
Services were 10:30 a.m. today in Holy Cross Church with the Rev Fredi Gomez Torres officiating. Visitation was 5-7 p.m. Sunday with a Scripture service at 6:45 p.m. in Meritt Funeral Home, Mendota.
Mr Schlesinger was born Aug 6, 1920 in Mendota to Edwin and Hattie (Kessel) Schlesinger. He married Kathleen Sondgeroth on Feb 15, 1947. He farmed in Mendota Township his entire life. He was a member of Holy Cross Church and a 50-year member of the Elks Lodge 1212.
Survivors include four sons, John (Lori) Schlesinger of Mendota, Edwin (Lisa) Schlesinger of Libertyville, William (Paula) Schlesinger of Wellston, OK, and Donald (Suzan) Schlesinger of Clinton; one daughter, Susan (Duane) Yost of Oklahoma City, OK; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and one brother, Delphan (Arlene) Schlesinger of Sublette.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1994 and one brother in infancy.
