MYRLIN V BATES: Boise; 80, died Wednesday [7-09] at a Boise nursing home. MrBates was born 9 Jun 1889 in MarionCnty, IA. He married Idelia Meece on 3 Dec 1913 in Bozeman MT. He was a veteran of WW1, having served with the US Army. MrBates had lived in Boise since 1929 & had been self employed as an auto mechanic until 1941. At that time he went to work for StLuke's Hospital as a maintenance man for 9 years until he retired. He was a 50yr member of Star in the West Lodge-4, AF&AM-Red Lodge MT & member of Sawtooth Barracks Veterans of WW1.
Surviviors, in addition to his wife, include bros: Russell-ThreeForks MT & Ralph-Yakima WA; a sis: Maude Carpenter-Helena MT & numberous nieces--nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Myrlin BatesJr who was killed in WW2 & also by his parents & 4 bros.
Service will be conducted Monday afternoon [7-14] at Summers Funeral Home by RevDavid Blackaller. Interment will be at Terrace Lawn
