She was born Nov. 14, 1940, in Springfield, the daughter of George and Alice Smith Brown. She married Earl Bernhardt in 1958 in Springfield; he died in 2003.
Mrs. Bernhardt was a member of Calvary Temple Christian Center.
Survivors: two sons, Richard E. and Jeffery Bernhardt, both of San Jose; three daughters, Candace (husband, Charles) Cartwright of Auburn, Melody L. Jarmey of Antioch and Tabitha K. Bernhardt of Springfield; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; father, George of Mount Olive; and two sisters, Carolyn Ray of New Port Richey, Fla., and Laura (husband, Randall) Jasmine of Mayfield, Ky.
Services: 1 p.m. Saturday, Bisch and Son Funeral Home, the Rev. Rick Hohimer officiating. Graveside services: 10 a.m. Monday, Camp Butler National Cemetery.
