Funeral services for Franklin Meade McWethy, 73, brother of Miss Faye McWethy and Mrs. Lewis Payne, both of Stillwater, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday in Berryville, Ark. McWethy died in Berryville, Aug. 28, 1974. The service will be at the Berryville First Methodist Church. A former resident of Stillwater, he came to Stillwater in 1918 to enroll in the Preparatory School of the Oklahoma A&M College. He was an A&M graduate of 1925. He was married to the former Lucile Richards. He was with the Soil Conservation Service for a number of years. His first duties with the service was with the Civilian Conservation Corps camp located on West Sixth, where the new Stillwater hospital is being constructed. He also was a surveyor in the area where Lake Carl Blackwell is now located. He was with SCS in Berryville before his retirement. Other than his wife of Berryville, and his two sisters in Stillwater, he is survived by four children: Billy, Carol, Evadne and David; several grandchildren and another sister, Mrs. Marie Keeth in Muskogee. Two children predeceased him: Marvin and Gwenyth.
