Richard J. Flechsenhaar, 73, of Knowlesville, died at the Medina Memorial Hospital Thursday afternoon after a long illness.
Mr. Flechsenhaar was born in Lockport Aug. 14, 1909, the son of Charles and Catherine (Carlin) Flechsenhaar. He had lived in Knowlesville since 1941 and had been employed by GTE Sylvania in Batavia for 20 years prior to his retirement in 1971.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Medina and the Senior Citizens.
Among the survivors are his wife, the former Beulah Swan; three sons, Richard J. Flechsenhaar Jr., Dennis Robert Flechsenhaar of Anthony, New Mexico and James Swan of Largo, Fla.; two daughters, Mrs. Earl A. (Janice) Harmer of Medina and Patricia Shultz of Albion; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Anna Mae Penwright of Gasport; four brothers, Edward, John, William and Robert Flechsenhaar all of Lockport; also, several nephews, nieces and cousins.
Relatives and friends may call at the Houseman Funeral Home, 228 Park Ave., (2-4 and 7-9 p.m.) today and Saturday.
The funeral service will be private, with burial at the convenience of the family.
Memorials to the First Baptist Church of Medina or to the Medina Senior Citizens would be appreciated by the family.
