Paralysis Fatal To Local Woman

Mrs Alice Goodman Dies Yesterday

Mrs Alice Loretta Goodman, age 77, died at 6:30p.m. Friday at her home, 1308 North Walnut Street, following a stroke of paralysis. She had been in failing health for the past two years.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the Reformed Presbyterian Church with the Rev. S. Bruce Wilson in charge. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

A native of this county, Mrs Goodman had lived here all her life except for 12 years spent at Tipton, Indiana. She was born on December 5, 1869 to James H. and Elizabeth Knight Butcher.

She was affiliated with the Christian Church at Tipton, The Loyality Community Club, The Ladies Auxiliary of the Spanish American War Veterans and the Ladies Auxiliary of the GAR.

For a number of years, Mrs Goodman had been employed as a cook for both the Phi Gam and Delta Chi houses.

Survivors include the daughter, Miss Ruth Goodman, who is employed at Indiana University; two sisters, Mrs Guy Manley and Mrs Everett Shook, both of Bloomington; three brothers, Homer Butcher of Greenfield, Carl pf Largo, Florida, and Everett of Tampa, Florida.

The husband, Newton C. Goodman passed away in 1934.

Until the hour of the service, the body will lie in state at the Allen Funeral Home.
