Ann was ther daughter of Christopher B. Van Arsdalen and Sarah DuMont and sister of Peter C. Van Arsdalen. She was married to John Oppie. John was born aug. 19, 1798 & died March 15, 1836. As they both died fairly young, their only child, James, was brought up by his Van Arsdalen grandparents, who lived across the river from Raritan, N.J.
