Mary Ellen Murray Hathaway
This woman is found on the dual headstone of Matilda Brock-Jones Hathaway #81625744. The picture is invaluable in identifying her but the picture cuts off the death date of Mary Ellen Murray Hathaway. It starts with Sept 12,1912-Sept??????? Is it possible to check on this . Do you live close by. Actually she is not listed in this cemetery either.

Thank you for your time spent on these records.

So would you correct the death on Find-A-Grave? Or is it a different Lewis Sevits?

Headstone photos you could add
Hi Dave,
Great to hear from you! Sorry to hear that you have not been well--you should have let me know you were in the hospital, we would have come to visit. I wanted to ask if you would be interested in adding some of your headstone photos to the memorials of spouses that have recently passed? Most of them seem to be in Gardens of Memory. I could sent you a list of the memorial numbers. Let me know if you are up to it--
Take care and stay in touch,
Jane

RE: AARON EDWARDS
Well that is interesting that the 1906 on the top of the stone is one yr off. My cousins grandmother's is 2 yrs off! Go figure! I guess people don't want to fix the mistakes.

Thanks

AARON EDWARDS
Hello,

Aaron Edwards was mar to my 1st cousin 4x removed Elizabeth Boyd.

If you live over in the Muncie area could you poss see if you can find an obit for Aaron?

Death index states he died Aug 13, 1905 yet his tombstone states 1906??? I would really like to know which is correct, the death index or the stone??

It is quite poss there is a death notice at least in the Muncie paper for him. It should be easy bec one would have to look around Aug 13 1905 and Aug 13 1906 and see which year he appears. I tried to email the lib but evid you have to have a lib card?? It wouldn't let me submit the question without entering a number and the only thing was left blank was library card # and I clicked on I DON'T HAVE A CARD but it wouldn't go through.

Thanks
Nola

YOUR WORK
DSON1492 -

I want to personally thank everyone associated with this site in expressing my sincere appreciation and gratitude for the dedicated attention and tedious time that is involved in keeping this site up.

I was able to locate many friends and family members final resting places. Unfortunately, many of them I was unable to attend their funeral services and burials, never allowing me to see them for the last time.

Because of this site, it has allowed me moments
so I could have my final closures with them.

Sincerely,
William D. Runnels

Earlham Cemetery
Hello,

Another Find A Grave member gave me your info. He said that you have taken almost every headstone at Earlham. I have several photo request in for Earlham. I was wondering if you could look at my Find A Grave photo request page and see if you might have taken photos of any of my family. If so I'll be waiting for the downloads to my family. If there are no headstones for my family members thanks anyway for looking.

Very Respectfully,

Al Haxton Jr Find A Grave 47862792

RE: Bailey Family
I received this on Ancestry and since you have Kennedy in your surnames maybe you are connected. John Kennedy

I have been contacted by Eleanor Stillman of the Steuben County Historical Society. She is looking for relatives of John Kennedy, Son on Henry Kennedy. John will be inducted into the Steuben County Hall of Fame on May 2nd and she is wanting to contact relatives to invite them. If you know any or want to be invited please contact her at historian@co.steuben.ny.us Kathy

Hey, Dave, is there a way to communicate that is not so public? I don't want to put my email on here for just anyone to see. I am not sure if you can see any of the trees on ancestry.

Sincerely,
Jan

Hi Dave,
Thanks! The marriage license for Adonijah and Lucinda was new. I have not been able to find that. I had the other stuff. Are you on Ancestry?

RE: Bailey Family
Thank you for the offer. There are so many things I do not know how to research. For example, I am still looking for my great grandmother-Alcy Elizabeth Bailey Baxter's mother. I know her death certificate says Dorcas Jones and her father says Jesse Bailey (her father-in-law was Jesse Baxter)-both of them wrong. Her father was Adonijah Morgan Bailey and Adonijah did not marry Dorcas until 7 years after her birth. He was married to another woman in 1859 and had three other children. I still cannot find the census for either Adonijah or Alcy Elizabeth in 1860. We have a passed down family story that Alcy Elizabeth's mother was some kind of Native American princess. My mtDNA tested 1% Native American and my brother's had 0. Finding your ancestors is definitely a lifelong work in progress!

Take care,
Jan
