The pictures on your ancesters Memoriala are great. I have always liked to look at old pictures. I have some of my ancesters but the ones fron the 19th century were lost.

Family links
Some people just want to put the name in and dates and a photo of the gravesite. They won't add the obit. I research deeply to find info and family to link.

Yes, it is on Court Street about middle way on the right side. There is a restaurant on one side of it. Hope you can visit, the people there are so helpful and they seem to enjoy helping. They have helped me a lot. Marsha

I go there once in a while, ours has a lot of information but I am sure not as much as Columbia. I too get side tracked and read a lot of unrelated articles. The old ones are so interesting. Have you been to Fulton to our HS? Marsha

Oh my, that's terribly sad! Very nice that you have have placed them in the ethers... Somehow, the angle you gave it lends some poignance.

Callaway History
Good to hear from you. A Story. Somehow I came to have a letter written by Robert Brandon to his sister Elizabeth Kirby who'd stayed in Halifax county. He was telling her of the death of his wife Jane Holt, Abner's sister. It is 4 pages, written in his beautiful hand in 1858. He was the father of Elizabeth Jane, wife of William Wilson Vaughn. He wrote of her family in the letter - this, before the civil war's calamity.

I am too old to keep it much longer so I thought deeply & decided to send it to Cathy Clatterbuck Murahashi who used to visit us on Fox Island. She is a fine historian as are her children. She's not a Brandon. Elizabeth Foster Tilton & I knew of no Brandon likely to guard it. Cathy Clatterbuck descends from Susan Holt Bennett, John's wife. Elizabeth & I had always thought of it as a Brandon letter. But it gives a long, loving description of a Holt death. So for all time to come, it will be a Holt letter. Before I put it in the mailer I kissed it and shall never forget how my ggg gf was with me for a moment.

Elizabeth Bryan Dyer
Hi Ron: I think Mr. Golson missed Mrs. Dyer when he entered her husband, Samuel Dyer in Columbia Cemetery. I know she died about the same time he did. She was Elizabeth Bryan Dyer, daughter of Morgan & Sarah Bryan of Boone. I can't help but think she is a cousin of Rebecca Boone, but I don't have the link. Nonetheless, you took the photo for Samuel Dyer (#64851974) & I wonder if there is some kind of evidence for her burial... Her father, Morgan Bryan, is will #1696.

I've made through 2 of the 12 children :o
the thing is when I'm updating my kinfolk there are several contributors in Boone County that own the memorials, do you own memorials of all your family?

Um, isn't that the purpose of findagrave?
I know some are very private but whats difference between an obit that's posted in the newspaper and now online and the info on findagrave?

RE: Lloyd W Moreau
the best part on mine was she had no email address posted and her message feature was disabled, I couldn't contact her if I wanted to, probably a good thing ;) I did report the message on my gg's flower memorial to Find A Grave as it just looked ugly, they removed it right away.
BTW this grandfathers name was Perry Pickle Melvin, now there's a name!

RE: Lloyd W Moreau
Its bound to happen, I just don't understand why people get so cranky about it,its easily fixed and thanks for fixing it :)
I once had a contributor demand that I remove my duplicate memorial for my great grandfather, I had been searching for his burial place for a year, finally found him in a okcemeteries list, I wrote down all the info but didn't get around to making the memorial until the next day, it just happened that a volunteer had been out to the cemetery the day before and made a memorial, he graciously deleted his memorial as mine had more info and links and added his photo, so why did she need to be so nasty, OH, and her demand was also left in his flower offerings.

Lloyd W Moreau
Hi Ron, Lloyd W Moreau 116051435 is a Duplicate of Sgt. Lloyd W Moreau 55023220, I understand wanting to honor military with ranks but it really throws off a search, I would have never found it if he had not been linked to parents, would you please add the photo to the original memorial.
