You must purchase a deed of land to be buried. Funny, even to die you are required to own property.

Lost at sea at my Virtual cemetery. Stop by and offer a life vest, well okay, a flower of compassion.

Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield, MO. My sources are many besides my wandering through the cemetery. MO. Death Certificates on-line, Greene County Missouri Cemeteries Vol IX 3 book series Hazelwood Cemetery by Ozarks Genealogical Society. Walking and photographing of the stones. Constant in touch with the staff at the cemetery to find information. To those helped thanks for the letting me know. Thanks to those that have furnished corrections, or the added information that would help.

RE: nathaniel cato
pension application of Elizabeth Cato:
Cato Nathaniel, "unknown U S Volunteers" Widow, Elizabeth Application #1156666, no certificate. This widow does not write, but this is the first time I have ever seen anyone "make their mark" by putting ink on their thumb and making a thumbprint. Elizabeth applied for pension on 21 April 1920. at which time she lived at 704 South Water Street, Sapulpa, OK. On that date she says she is 90 years old, born Dec 1830 at Rockingham Co Va. She says she was married to Nathaniel June of 1865 under the name of Mrs Elizabeth Gentry near Harrisonburg, Rockingham Va. Her first marriage was to Franklin Black in August 1846 at Rockingham Co Va, and she was next married to Frank Gentry in Rockingham Co Va in about 1853. Nathaniel died 2 April 1898 at Springfield, Mo. She is asked to submit proof of her husband's service and says "all the papers belonging to her deceased husband, Nathaniel Cato pertaining to his service in the Army during the Civil War were entirely burned when their house burned in Rockingham Co Va in the fall of 1866. That all her relatives and relations are long since dead and that all her deceased husband's relatives are dead as far as she knows and that her husband's Father was killed in the Civil War, Her witnesses are James Meylor, R T Wildman, and J F Greason? Meylor appears on two different documents, and gives his address as being the same as the widow's. This claim was "abandoned" because the widow was not able to send proof of her husband's service.
