Sabine County Texas cemeteries were indexed by me and a couple of helpers in 2000-2002. There are 148 identified cemeteries/burial places with 25 of these being almost lost with only faint signs of burial, to being completely lost with only a general knowledge of where the cemetery was located. I personally walked and indexed more than 135 of these. Many thanks to others that are interested in Sabine Co., TX, because of them, much progress has been made in making these memorials available to others. I am adding pictures of the markers I have taken, corrections and links to family members.|
I have many of the Sabine County cemeteries completely photographed and hope to someday complete all of them. I have recently completed photographing Hemphill City, Munnerlyn, Low's Chapel and Spring Hill Cemeteries. Now I am trying to identify unmarked graves and get duplicates and cremated memorials moved out of the cemeteries. I have begun photographing Gravel Hill.
I no longer live in Sabine County, but I have lots of Sabine County family information. I am continually researching Sabine County families and linking families. I would be honored to take care of any Sabine County memorial that you would like to transfer to me.
I have walked where my ancestors walked, laughed where my ancestors laughed, and cried where my ancestors cried.

|M Roberson||Brookeland Cemetery, Sabine county,TX|
Hello, I am trying to locate a grave for William McClellan born between 1860-1863 and who died in Beaumont, TX in 1944. His death certificate indicates that his body was returned to Brookeland, TX where he lived for many years. His infant daughter, Murtle McClellan, Memorial #81207630, is buried in Brookeland Cemetery. My assumption is that he may be buried there as well as his wife, Cora White McClellan and that perhaps they have no stones. Are you able to check your records to see if these parents are buried in Brookeland Cemetery? Or can you assist me in contacting someone who might be able to help me. Thanks so much for any assistance you can offer.

Where does this info come from?
This should not say Vickers. Guess I am really losing my marbles. Can you tell me how you added the Warner brothers. I tried to link my mother and grandmother once. I made such a mess, Find A Grave had to correct it for me. If it is simple, I would like to learn to do this. If it not simple, maybe sometimes when you are in Hemphill and have time, you could show me.
Have a blessed Easter.
PS Thank you.

Thanks Kay. I just forgot to delete my memorial. I sent the obituary to Ray to post. If you will send me the links for the Warner boys, I will try again. Guess I deleted the link you sent me. Thought I had saved it in a file but could not find it.Bettie

I got your message that you sent about the links. I did not know how to link them so I just typed the information. If you will tell me how to enter what you sent to me, I will enter it.

Thank you for letting me know I also got the information from the census. Maybe his family did not know that are he had dropped the Wallace.

You're very welcome!!

I've made 'Home' a nickname; an imperfect solution, I may change my mind and just make it Hume since that is what everyone except the nobility of Scotland uses.

Hm that isn't a bad point. The problem is that F-A-G's system doesnt search for soundex matches, or at least it didn't used to.
Maybe I will put it to the Hume temporarily for that reason. Hopefully eventually the system could allow a name variant search result.
George Hume actually switched the spelling to Hume in his personal correspondence during his middle age, I presume because the largely non-Scottish population may have mispronounced it. At this point, aside from the head of the family, Lord Alex Douglas-Home, the Home spelling now seems to be in the minority.
