Sabine County Texas cemeteries were indexed by me and a couple of helpers in 2000-2002. There are 148 identified cemeteries/burial places with 25 of these being almost lost with only faint signs of burial, to being completely lost with only a general knowledge of where the cemetery was located. I personally walked and indexed more than 135 of these. Many thanks to others that are interested in Sabine Co., TX, because of them, much progress has been made in making these memorials available to others. I am adding pictures of the markers I have taken, corrections and links to family members.|
I have many of the Sabine County cemeteries completely photographed and hope to someday complete all of them. I have recently completed photographing Hemphill City, Munnerlyn, Low's Chapel and Spring Hill Cemeteries. Now I am trying to identify unmarked graves and get duplicates and cremated memorials moved out of the cemeteries. I have begun photographing Gravel Hill.
I no longer live in Sabine County, but I have lots of Sabine County family information. I am continually researching Sabine County families and linking families. I would be honored to take care of any Sabine County memorial that you would like to transfer to me.
I have walked where my ancestors walked, laughed where my ancestors laughed, and cried where my ancestors cried.

for memorial 85732146.
Do you have access to death certificates? I am trying to find out if it lists Susan Alzada Reeds mother's name.
some researches say Susan's maiden name was Rogers, and some say Merritt. However I believe her maiden name was Arnold.
Also-for her mother: Her name was Beatrice (Beady) Merritt. Merritt was Beady's married name. I am trying to determine what Beady's maiden name was.
So I am hoping you have access to Susan's death certificate and than by chance they would have listed both her father and mothers names.
You may not, but I've been beating my head against the wall on this line for months.
Susan is my gg grandmother's sister. And my gg grandmothers death certificate was no help.

My answer to your question , is not an answer and I now somewhat regret sending you the date of death change.
I have looked AGAIN through my records. First In the year of 1805, I find it very hard to believe that someone was named. Berryman Dela Shumate Watkins. In those years people were just not that creative with names.
The birth of 1805 in South Carolina, came from Ancestry.com , it’s in several “Trees”. So I accept that.
I have him moving to TX just before 1840.. I will accept that
I have him connected to a ( JANE GORDAN ) or TN. By way of the 1850 TX Censes.
With no marriage certificate in TX. I am not sure if I accept that.
The Death time stamp of Oct 1851 is from the online publication – ( Provo, UT, USA )the Mormons. I somewhat accept that.
After review please don’t change the Find A Grave because of what I suggested… further research is needed.
|Lyneva Mitchell Grauberger||Thela Denton Parker|
I have a question about Thela Denton Parker #32745047, whose spouse was Sam Ola Westmoreland #37164226. I am working on my research for my Westmoreland line, and saw that in the 1930 census, one Sam Ola Westmoreland is shown as a male. But I see that Sam and Thela's children have the last name of Parker, which apparently means that Sam Ola is the mother and Thela Denton Parker is the father! Can you clear this up for me?
Thanks in advance for helping me with this quandary!
