I am a 71 year old great grandmother who works on genealogy every day. I was born in Jefferson Co., New York but now live in Davenport, Florida. My family is very important to me. My hobbies include reading, genealogy, crocheting, & baking. I have traveled in the past within the USA even living in Alaska for a couple years when I was a child. I have found 4 of my relatives tombstones on this site one in Alaska I never would have been able to visit. I am very proud to become a part of it.|
I found this site looking for relatives and where they were buried and started adding some that were not listed . I also found that some of the cemeteries themselves weren't listed. Most of my memorials are for relatives but not all so if you find one you want transferred ask and if they are not closely related to me I will be happy to transfer them to you. I think they belong with family. If you have any additions (or corrections)also let me know.My email has an underscore between the T & M that doesn't show up good.
I have found this site very helpful to resize pictures that you want to add here.
This link is from Sharon Hanson Frey's member page. It is one of the best tools for genealogy I have seen in a long time. It gives you a birth date when you find only the death date and person's age on their tombstone.

|Roger Whiting||William Henry Whiting|
Do your files include any information about William Henry Whiting as a possible son of John Jacob & Caroline Whiting. I believe he may be the same person who eventually married Mary Ann Smith possibly in Fulton or Schenectady in 1867 and later moved to Pittsfield, Berkshire County, Massachusetts. I have his family history starting with this marriage concluding with his death in 1912...at Pittsfield, MA and where his death certificate does not list his parents.
We first find William H. and Mary Ann Whiting living in Schenectady with a "Charles A. Whiting" in the 1870 US census.
In 1865, we found a Wm H Whiting, age 25 living with John and Caroline Minnick in Broadalbin, Fulton County, NY listed as "son". Others living there were John C., soldier, 33, born Fulton County, NY; Chanceler H, 22, also born Fulton County; and, Marvin (Samuel-?) 17.
Can't find William in the 1860 US census yet...but we do find him in 1855, age 14 born Fulton County, and living with a Peter & Matilda Bollinger in Brownville, Jefferson County, NY. Earlier in 1850 Wm Whiting, age 9, is found living with Caroline Whiting 41, Phebe 13, Chanceler 7, Marian or Marvin 2 and lastly with a Polly Kinket 80 at Broadalbin, Fulton County, NY.
Any information that you have would be greatly appreciated..Thanks.

|Jeannette Woodman||Island cemeteries|
Concerning the RC cemeteries I only know of the two you mentioned. Yes I do live on the Island and I can check on some of the graves you are interested in. I have many pictures of the ones of my family. LaRush, Lacey, McGlynn Flynn etc. As I remember the stones in the old cemetery were all removed and piled up on the edge. They have been put back as to the right places I don't know. I have not been up there in a few years. My husband's grandmother was Mary Dixon so you and he are distantly related through the Dixon's. If you are on the island would be happy to see you. We live on the north side of the 11th line.#20. I have not done much with the geneology lately. I lose interest every once in a while
