I am a 72 year old great grandmother who works on genealogy every day. I was born in Jefferson Co., New York but now live in Davenport, Florida. My family is very important to me. My hobbies include reading, genealogy, crocheting, & baking. I have traveled in the past within the USA even living in Alaska for a couple years when I was a child. I have found 4 of my relatives tombstones on this site one in Alaska I never would have been able to visit. I am very proud to become a part of it.
I found this site looking for relatives and where they were buried and started adding some that were not listed . I also found that some of the cemeteries themselves weren't listed. Most of my memorials are for relatives but not all so if you find one you want transferred ask and if they are not closely related to me I will be happy to transfer them to you. I think they belong with family. If you have any additions (or corrections)also let me know.My email has an underscore between the T & M that doesn't show up good.
I have found this site very helpful to resize pictures that you want to add here. http://www.shrinkpictures.com/
This link is from Sharon Hanson Frey's member page. It is one of the best tools for genealogy I have seen in a long time. It gives you a birth date when you find only the death date and person's age on their tombstone. BIRTH DATE CALCULATOR
RE: Gardiners I did find Palmer in that book now I know why everyone has his death wrong, they got it from the book. The State Vital Records have him dying a few years later that that. Palmer's daughter was there with her husband's name but that is where it ended for her. There are alot of holes and I am sure alot of mistakes in her research. Palmer's death record matches his parents and where he was born and he was living near or with one of his daughters who married a man in North Bridgewater, so it is accurate and her research is wrong. Where did you find this record maybe I can contact them about it.
Just A Note Thelma for changing his memorial from Edwin to Elwin. I have checked my family and it is listed as Elwin J. Sylvester on all of the census records on Ancestry.com. In some cases the person who transcribed the census listed it as Edwin. However, when I looked at the actual census it showed as Elwin. He was my second cousin. Thank you. Raymona # 47237415
Lumen Gotham Interesting that Lumen Gotham is listed as being buried in Wesleyville Cemetery and is even listed on the monument with all the names interred, but is buried in Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. My info also lists his birth year as 1830. Just wanted to share as there were almost two burial places for him.
RE: Elva & Elisie Gotham I just came across a message you left me back in September and I'm so sorry for not getting back to you. Yes, I do live in Carthage. Born and raised. That's awesome that you were born in the area too! I am familiar with Camps Mills as I've been to the Camps Mills Cemetery. Of course, Camps Mills was dissolved and is now part of Fort Drum. Always nice to connect with new people who are from this area. If you ever need any headstone photos or anything, feel free to email me and let me know! I'm happy to help! Thanks again for the message Thelma. Have a great day!
