Bio and Links
Bio Photo I enjoy genealogy with my main lines being Merritt & Cagle and all associated names that go with them. Merritt is out of Cannon County/Dekalb County, Tennessee and Cagle is out of McNairy County, Tennessee.

I think Find A Grave is an excellent site and a fantastic idea. I have found many graves that I have needed on the site and I hope others find the ones I have posted useful.

I love nature and have 12 cats, two koi ponds, feed many mallard ducks, birds, squirrels and whatever else is hungry.

RE: Ola Mai McGuffie & Smith Mayse
I have no relation to the Mayse family. I requested a pic of Smith Mayse headstone to see if Ola is buried next to him!

The Cagle House
Hi, Robie,

Are you familiar with the Cagle House in Altamont - Grundy County, TN....

John Calvin Smith built a cabin on the Backbone and when he got ready to retire, he rolled his cabin down the mountain on logs. When he retired, he had his cabin down in Altamont and it was later sold to the Northcutt family and became known as the Cagle House. The Northcutts still own the house.

RE: Old Brown Cemetery
She most likely was buried at Roundhill but according to the cemetery book, most the graves were relocated to other cemeteries when they widened Highway 276.
That is my photo on your memorial. I can tell by the way my husband cleaned it with water. It's still wet. I've never been to Roundhill because according to the Haywood County Cemetery Book as of 1979, the only graves that remained are as follows:

D.M PARTON
SON OF
F.W. & L. PARTON
11/29/1893
10/08/1903

"LITTLE"
CAROLYN PARTON
DAUGHTER OF WILSON & NANCY PARTON
No dates

ERASTUS KEENER PARTON
09/30/1896
11/25/1931

W.G.PARTON
SON OF
F.M. & L. PARTON
11/29/1893
10/08/1903

VESSIE ETTA PARTON
11/11/1883
11/23/1971

FLEMMING WHITE PARTON
05/22/1854
10/09/1917

LAURA CALDWELL PARTON
04/24/1855
05/22/1988

WILSON PARTON
12/08/1803
11/14/1880

NANCY PARTON
WIFE OF WILSON PARTON
05/09/1817
09/14/1863

JOHN W. PARTON
03/12/1853

ALICE PARTON TUCKER

06/08/1946

MARY EVALINE TUCKER
DAUGHTER OF FRED & BESSIE TUCKER

So all the other memorials that are listed at Roundhill have been removed to other cemeteries.
