RE: Cecil Stanley Proudfit
Hello Bill, the stone is a cement marker put in place by the cemetery for identification of the grave site. The markers are removed when permanent headstones are put in and they sink into the ground if nothing is done. Glad I found Cecil's and that I could help. Best wishes. Dave

The linkage has been deleted. I have no direct info about that linkage, it probably was a suggestion from another contributor. Thanks for the correction.

I remembered your unusual last name from my search in Parkwood last year. There is now a marker on Jess Vanderpool's site which I photographed and added to your memorial page for him today.

RE: Morgan Wireman
You are probably right, so go ahead and use it. Not sure were I got it, but it might of been a census.

RE: Edgar Lee Vanderpool
Bill, I found the Vanderpool family in the 1930 census. Sure enough there the three of them were - Clarence, Thelma and Edgar. In 1930 they lived in Charlotte. In 1935 they lived in Wilmington, NC. Then, they lived in Laurenburg. That is right. Clarence and my father worked for the same trucking outfit and the company moved to Laurinburg.

According to the census info, I can only believe that Clarence returned to the family.

According to the census, Edgar was born in Virginia.

RE: Edgar Lee Vanderpool
Thanks for responding to my email. I seriously doubt that Thelma ever remarried. She was quite ill when we were neighbors. My mother spent a lot of time with her giving her care. About the only time she ever left her house was when she had to take Edgar to Charlotte to mend a broken arm.

I think I will try to track them down via the census records.

Take care,

Dot O'Donnell

Another clue for me is that his birthday was March 28 and mine is April 8 - same year - 1928.
