Until June of 2014, I was employed full time as a Music Specialist in an elementary school in Garland ISD, which is a suburb of Dallas, Texas. I am now retired from GISD, and I am working as an independent piano teacher in my studio, Karen Young Piano Studio, in Garland. I have been teaching piano lessons since 1978 and I have served as President of Garland Music Teachers Association. I am also affiliated with Texas Music Teachers Association and MTNA. I have been interested in ancestry for many years, but I have been actively involved in research since 1985. I have over 21,000 people in my family tree on Ancestry.com I also maintain my husband's family tree, as well as my son-in-law's tree.
