AUGUST MUELLER (d. 1967)

August Mueller, 79, formerly of 826 10th St., Manitowoc, died Sunday morning
at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc. He had been a resident of Park Lawn Nursing
Home, Manitowoc, three years.
Funeral services will be 1:30 Wednesday at Fist Lutheran Church Chapel,
Manitowoc. The Rev. George Knudson will officiate and burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Mueller was born Oct. 15, 1887, at Maplewood, Town of Forestville, son of
the late Otto and Mary Foerster Mueller. He married Julia Benisheck Feb. 13,
1914, at Branch. Before coming to Manitowoc in 1946, he owned and operated a
farm at Five Corners. At Manitowoc he was employed for seven years by the City
of Manitowoc.
He attended the University of Wisconsin where he studied Agriculture. He served
as treasurer and town highway commissioner for Manitowoc Rapids for a number of
years and also as secretary-treasurer of the Whitelaw Cheese Factory. He was
also a member of the early brass musicians group. His wife preceded him in death
in 1958.
He is survived by a son, Loyal of Rice Lake, Wis., and four daughters, Mrs.
Milton (Elaine) Kornely of Manitowoc, Mrs. Robert (Carol) Wellner of Rt. 1,
Whitelaw,and the twins, June and Jewel of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Herman
Tills of Manitowoc and 17 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, after 3 p.m.
Tuesday until noon Wednesday when the body will be moved to the church to lie
in state until the time of service.
