Daughter of Hannah and John Davis of Norristown. Was born "at sea." Married Israel Wood and had nine children. They resided in the Whitpain/Whitemarsh area. Israel died suddenly at a very young age either before their last child was born or shortly thereafter. It is not know where he is buried. Rachel remarried Baltis Hoffman, and had three children, one who died in childhood and one who died when 22. She lived to be 93 years old and spent her remaining years with her daughter Elizabeth Wood Hart in Norristown.
