DIED SATURDAY BELOVED WOMAN

Mrs. Ava Kennedy Passed Away at Home on Shelby Street---Last Rites to Be Tuesday.

Mrs. Ava Kennedy, widow of the late Sylvan Kennedy, died at her home 613 Shelby Street, this city, at 6:20 o'clock Saturday evening, at the age of sixty-seven years, five months and twenty-four days. Her death was due to uremia following a complete nervous breakdown, and is deeply mourned by hundreds of friends. Mrs. Kennedy had been ill for the past ten days.

She was born in Letts. Ind., on Nov. 10, 1867, the daughter of Abraham and Margaret Thompson Miller. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. Willard C. Smith of Indianapolis; one son, Fleming Kennedy this city; one grandchild; three brothers, Samuel Miller of Shelby County; John, this city; Frank of Colfax, Ind., and four sisters, Mrs. Julia Fraley of Franklin, Ind.; Mrs. John House of this city; Mrs. Charles Hines of Lebanon, Ind., and Mrs. Maud Henry of Indianapolis.

The deceased had been a resident of Shelbyville for the past forty years. She was interested in affairs of the community, and her death is a great loss. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church where funeral services will be held at two o'clock Tuesday morning, Dr. Charles A. Howler, pastor officiating.

Burial in charge of Charles M. Ewing, will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
