"He (Frank McGuire) was united in marriage to Miss Katie Steele, of Kane, she being the daughter of Mrss Abbie Steele, whose husband, Allen Steele, the father of Mrs. McGuire, was killed in Kane yard in 1877. Mrs. Steele was afterwards married to James Maher, whom she now survives. Mrs. Maher's father, and grandfather of Mrs. McGuire, was run over and killed in Kane yard in 1866. It can be truly said that the cup of Mrs. Maher's sorrow of railroad casualties has been filled to overflowing, her father, first husband, and eldest daughters husband, all have met instant deaths on railroads.
Mr. McGuire left, besides his widowed wife, a son Charles, aged 9 years, and daughter Myrtle, aged seven years, four brothers, two sisters and his aged father."
