Christopher was the son of Johan Sebastian Klein. But he was known by his friends and neighbors as " Stoffle" (his middle name). He is found in a number of deeds involving Deitrich families and other Ramsours families, he remained close to both families through the years. In these he was often identified as Bostain Cline, Jr. This says to me that Bostain was his father's middle name. It was traditional to name your son with a name taken from a family member, it shows the world who's son he is. Stoffle had a good solid reputation and was able to establish his family's place on Clarks Creek, 2 miles North of the site of Lincolnton, Lincoln County, North Carolina

Suggested edit: I have other paperwork that lists Sebastian Cline Jr AS Bastian Cline. He is the one who was married to Margret Ramsaur. He ran off with his neighbors wife (Hannah Frey Burns) to Georgia and they had at least one child together. That child is named Jacob Burns Cline. When Bastion(Bostion) died in Georgia, Hannah came home. But she had been written out of her fathers will. And her husband died. The Clines were apparently so angry with Bastion that they never mentioned him again and gave all of what he had to his brother Christopher.. including any good stories. It was quite the drama.
