Birth name Rudolph Grugor, legally changed to Henry Gregory. (His brother, Edward, changed his surname to Gregor.) Henry & Edward's parents, (Daniel & Rosalie), 5 brothers, and 2 sisters, were taken to Siberia during the Russian Revolution where they perished. Only Henry and Edward managed to escape.

Henry immigrated to Canada in 1913. He served in the Canadian Army in both WW1 and WWll. In WWll, he served in the United Kingdom and continental Europe. After serving 6 years, he returned to Davidson, SK to resume farming until he retired in 1966. He never married and had no children, but was close to his 2 nieces and 7 nephews.

Henry passed away on February 26, 1967 in the Veteran's Wing of the Regina General Hospital. He was 72 years old. He was survived by his brother Edward and sister-in-law, Lydia (deceased at time of writing), 2 nieces and 7 nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, 2 sisters and 5 brothers.

A Funeral Service was held March 1, 1967 at the Associated Gospel Church, Davidson, SK with interment in the Davidson Cemetery. A Guard of Honor was formed by the Davidson Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.

It should be noted that at the time Henry Gregor was born, his place of birth was known as Lutsk, White Russia. The land has been claimed by several countries including Germany, Ukraine, Prussia, Poland, and Russia and has a Slav influence. At the time of this writing (2014 update 2020) the city of Lutsk is in The Ukraine.

Brother Edward Gregor;

Bio by niece Dot & nephew Walter.

(Note: Henry & Edward are brothers and are not related to Paul or Michael Gregor of the Moose Jaw area. Info by Edward before his passing.)
