The Huntsville Times, Wednesday, October 5, 1960:

A funeral for Mrs. Vallie Wilkerson Scott, 53, of Meridianville, was today at 10 a.m. at Beans Creek Primitive Baptist Church at Huntland, Tenn., with the Rev. Morgan Walker officiating. Burial was at Elora Cemetery, Elora, Tenn. Mrs. Scott was killed Sunday in an automobile accident near Huntland. She was born in Putnam County, Tenn., and was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Carl Scott of Meridianville; a son, Arvil Scott of Florida; three daughters, Mrs. Helen Nobels of Nashville, Mrs. Madge Batt of Huntsville, and Miss Linda Scott of Meridianville; a brother, John H. Wilkerson of California; three sisters, Mrs. John H. Shipley of Ohio, Mrs. D.W. Maxwell of Detroit, and Mrs. Homer Scott of Huntland, Tenn.; and seven grandchildren.
