DEATH OF MRS. ANNIE BLOUNT TATE
The painful intelligence of the death of Mrs. Annie Blount, wife of our esteemed fellow-citizen, Judge Walter Tate, the eldest daughter of the late lamented Judge A. C. Blount, and a sister of Hon. W. A. Blount, of this city, which occurred in Pensacola, Wednesday, July 1st, cast a gloom over a large circle of relatives and friends. Mrs. Tate had been in delicate health for about two months past, but little or no fear was entertained as to her ultimate recovery, until that dread disease, scarlet fever, proclaimed its domination of her weak system. Scarcely more than a year since this most estimable lady was wedded to him who now mourns her loss. Alas! The king of Shadows, seemingly with an unwarranted right, entered that sanctuary of marital happiness and severed at one fell blow the silken chain that bound heart to heart, soul to soul, and created a void that may be filled only where the night of death is changed into the morning of life.
We tender the bereaved family a heartfelt condolence in their sad affliction.
