Ezra C. Shenk, 90, Harrisonburg, died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at Oak Lea Nursing Home in Harrisonburg, where he had lived since 1998.
Mr. Shenk was born Feb. 23, 1911, in Newport News, and was the son of the late Abe P. and Samantha Showalter Shenk.
He worked at the Shenk and Weaver hatcheries for many years and was then employed for Superior Concrete until retiring. He was a member of the Lindale Mennonite Church .
On April 20, 1933, he married the former Pauline Mast, who died July 3, 2000.
Survivors include a son, Carl Joseph Shenk, Lakeland, Fla., four daughters, Eleanor Grace Lynch, Abington, Pa., Ruth Fern Shenk, Harrisonburg, Nora Elizabeth Schenk, Rainier, Wash., and Gladys Irene Wyse, Earlysville; a brother, George Shenk, Pasadina, Md.; a sister, Martha Weaver, Amelia; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
The Revs. Loren Horst and Michael Shenk will conduct a memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday at Lindale Mennonite Church . A graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Lindale Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the McMullen Funeral Home in Harrisonburg.
