Basil was the son of Nannie and Charles Beamon. He was born on May 14, 1923, and died on August 24, 1924. He was only fifteen months old. Believed to be cholera or typhus. He had steady flu-like symptoms for a few days, death was attributed to severe dehydration caused by the diarrhea and vomiting. Recounts say his mother had a very hard time with the death falling into a long period of grief. On the day they buried him, his mother cried uncontrollably, asking only for her brother.

He is buried along side his grandmother, grandfather, great-grandmother, and aunt, in a grave only marked with a stone.
