Gloria was born Dec. 8, 1946, in Burlington, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sergius Monty.
She graduated from Rice Memorial High School, South Burlington.
Gloria loved life and times spent with friends and family. Her twin granddaughters, Rylie and Paige, were her pride and joy. She was their "Nana" and enjoyed spending time with them. She sang to them, taught them songs, and they played numerous games together. Gloria enjoyed bowling and playing Scrabble and Yahtzee with her family and friends. She was a certified cosmetologist at Pillsbury Manor for a number of years. Later, Gloria worked as a cashier at Walmart, where she loved challenging her colleagues to a game of Yahtzee and loved being known as the champion. And, most recently, she worked at Price Chopper.
Gloria is survived by her daughter, Nichole and husband, Ron Hathaway, of Essex Junction; granddaughters, Rylie and Paige Hathaway; brother, Peter Monty and wife, Mary Lou, of The Villages, Fla.; and sister, Sylvia LaPointe of South Burlington.
Gloria was predeceased by her sisters, Margaret Hawley, Theresa Leach, Cecile Viens, Lillian Mullin, Yvette Luchini, Jennine, Betty and Veronica Monty.
She will be greatly missed by her family and many great friends.
