OBITUARIES - Phyllis Coombs
Phyllis J. Coombs, 65, 1304 E. Fairview, died at 11:45 p.m. [Saturday Oct. 11th] at Methodist Medical Center.
Born Nov. 8, 1920 in Flint, Mich., to Harry M. and Mazie E. Glick Birkett, she married Everett L. Coombs Jan. 5, 1944, in Peoria. He survives, along with one son, Matthew S. of Suttons Bay, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred (Jean) Ferrari of New Milford, Conn., Annette Joy Coombs of Peoria and Kathleen M. Coombs of Chicago; one sister, Mrs. Theordora "Dolly" Richards of Peoria; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother.
She was a member of the Salvation Army. Services will be at the Wilton Mortuary, Capt. Charles H. Smith officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 today at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Salvation Army-Peoria Citadel Corp.
