Sgt. Edwin R. Gordon, 21. was
killed in action in Italy on Apr. 19
a telegram from the War Depart-
ment has informed ins mother, Mr
John W. Gordon of Lewis Run
A member of the 10th Division,
Mountain Ski Troops, Sgt. Gordon
enlisted in the army on Dec. 2 1942,
and received training at Camp Croft,
S. C., and Camp Hale, Colo, before
going to Kiska and the Aleutian
Islands, where he was stationed five
months.
He had special mountain training
at Camp Hale and Camp Swift
Tex., before being sent to Italy in
December of last year.
Sgt. Gordon has been awarded the
Combat Infantry badge, the Expert
infantry badge and the Good Con-
duct Medal.
A graduate of Bradford High
school with the class of 1942, he
was employed by the Kendall Refining
company prior to his enlistment in
the army.
Sgt. Gordon is survived by his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. John W.
Gordon, a sister. Edna, and a broth-
er. John R. Gordon, awaiting
active duty in the U. S Navy.
