COLUMBUS – Beverly A. Anderson, 71, of Columbus, passed away on Nov. 4, 2012.
She was born on Aug. 31, 1941 in Norwich, the daughter of Douglas & Beatrice (Charles) Lawrence.
Her childhood was spent in Norwich, where she was a 1959 graduate of Norwich Central School.
On Dec. 13, 1958 she married Gray R. Anderson, who predeceased her on Feb. 29, 1996.
Beverly worked for 20 years for the New Berlin Head Start at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.
She enjoyed camping, going to the Turning Stone and casino bus trips. She also loved to babysit for her Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and other local children. Her home was the "bus stop" in Columbus.
Beverly is survived by her children; Wayne Anderson of Columbus, Robert Anderson of Sherburne, Donald Anderson of Columbus, Ronald Anderson of Pittsfield, Barbara Pickerd of Columbus, as well as 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers; Tom Lawrence of Norwich and Douglas Lawrence of Johnstown and her sisters Connie Pounds of South New Berlin and Sherry Bennett of Preston.
She was predeceased by one daughter, Christine R. Anderson, as well as her sister, Betty Neimier.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, New Berlin, with the Very Reverend Charles Taylor officiating.
Calling hours will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Dakin Funeral Home LP, New Berlin.
The interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, South New Berlin.
