Sylvester Tiggs was born Nov. 27, 1902 in Liberty County, TX and moved to Tacoma in 1943. He died Wed., Dec. 13, 1995 at the home of his daughter in the presence of family members. He was preceded in death by his mother, Fillicia; father, Clay; 6 brothers and sisters and great-granddaughter, Jasmine. He retired from the Laborer's Union and was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed his church, card playing, dominoes and sharing his sense of humor. Sylvester is survived by a daughter, a grandson, a granddaughter, two great-grandchildren, a nephew and his family of Tacoma; and a host of other nephews, nieces and cousins in Texas. He will be missed and remembered by all who knew him.
