Karen L. Corbett, 72, of Mt. Morris, died Sunday, November 11, 2012, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va.


She was born April 26, 1940, in Mt. Morris, a daughter of the late Paul I. and Jeanne Hickman King.


She was a member of Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle. She helped Mt. Morris Senior Center as an aide and volunteer for several years.


She was a former C&P telephone long distance operator for many years in Arlington, Va., and was a homemaker.


Among some of her hobbies, she enjoyed bingo, canasta, ceramics and singing in the church choir.


Surviving are a son, Kevin Johnson of Mt. Morris; two daughters, Shirley Zupper of Spraggs and Kerry McClure of Rogersville; a brother, Richard E. King of Hurricane, W.Va.; three grandsons, Gary Zupper Jr. and Nicky Zupper, both of Spraggs, and Grant McClure of Rogersville; a grandaughter, Madeline McClure of Rogersville; several nieces and nephews; a "stepfather," Pap King; and many friends.


Deceased, in addition to her parents, are a sister, Sharon King Slinde, and a brother, Scott King.


Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Dering-Henson Funeral Home, Morgantown, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 15, in Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle, with Pastor Fred Tomlinson officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mt Morris.
