Cecil Brown

Cecil Brown, 73, of Pooler, died Oct. 15 at home.

He was born in Candler County and lived in Chatham County for many years. He was retired from Union Camp Corp. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a recipient of the Silver Star. He participated in the D-Day invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. He was a deacon at Rothwell Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Geneva Brown of Pooler; four sons, Bobby, Ricky and Donny Brown, all of Pooler, and G.M. Daniels of Baxley; three sisters, Mary Diment of Cleveland, Tenn., Louise Hulsey of Portal and Betty Williams of Tallahassee, Fla.; four grandchildren, Pamela Holder, Suzette Shaw and Donald and Magen Brown; a great-grandson, Madison Shaw; and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 6-9 p.m. today at Massey Chapel Funeral Home, Garden City.

FUNERAL: 1:30 p.m. Friday at Rothwell Baptist Church, Pooler, burial in Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
