There will be an interment service to lay to rest the ashes of Ele Inscho in the Payson Pioneer Cemetery at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 12. "This will be a peaceful time of reflection and sharing," writes her family.
Mrs. Inscho, born Sept. 23, 1926 in Globe, passed away on Sept. 7, 2012 in Tucson, at the age of 85.
She lived in Payson from 1964 through 2005, where she was instrumental in the town's formation and growth. She and her husband took over management of the town's first bus line, Mogollon Stage Lines, and later, the accounting businesses, Ele Inscho Accounting and SHELLI of Payson.
In addition to being a longtime Soroptimists member, she also worked on the Payson Roundup newspaper as both reporter and editor.
Mrs. Inscho served as rodeo chairman, chamber of commerce president, and appointee to the town's first interim city council. She was subsequently elected to serve on Payson's first full council.
Mrs. Inscho is survived by her sons, Lyle Inscho (Sharon) and Duane Inscho (Megan), and grandchildren, Chris Inscho, Trevor Inscho, Brianna Inscho, and Nicolas Inscho, as well as her sister, Shirley Barney.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl Lowell; her parents, Loyde and Velma Edmonson; and brother, Loyde Edmonson.
