Marshall Thomas Elliott
Age 87, of Laurel, DE, went home to be with Jesus on a bright sunny Sunday morning, November 18, 2012. Marshall was born on June 26, 1925 to the late B. Thomas and Bessie Adams Elliott. He was also predeceased by brothers, William, Calhoun, Melvin and sisters Anna Elliott Scott and Madelyn Elliott.

Mr. Elliott is survived by his wife of 68 years, Blanche Dukes Elliott, one daughter, Marlene Elliott Brown and her husband, Jim. He is survived by brothers; Laurence Edwin and David of Laurel. A sister, Lena Short of Georgetown. He is also survived by a grandson, Michael Brown and his wife, Tanya. Three great grandchildren, Mia, Abi, and Aaron. Several nieces and nephews also survive him. He also leaves to cherish his memory many others who were like children and grandchildren.

Marshall was a farmer and especially enjoyed raising his goats. In the early years, he worked for L.B. Brittingham. He was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Delaware Farm Bureau. As a youth he attended the Sycamore School.

A viewing will be held on November 21, Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home 700 West St. Laurel, DE. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, November 23, 2012 at Trinity United Methodist Church Philips Hill Road Laurel, were a viewing will also be held from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. The Rev. Julie Lewis and Rev. Jim Scott will officiate. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
