Blanche is survived by her daughter, Marlene Elliott Brown and her husband, Jim, with whom she made her home. She is also survived by a brother William Dukes (Norma) and a sister Joan Stevenson (Robert) and a grandson, Michael Brown (Tanya) and 3 great grandchildren Mia, Abi, and Aaron. She also leaves to cherish her memory many others who were like children and grandchildren and a special cousin, Dorothy Banks.
Blanche attended Sycamore School and graduated as the salutatorian of the Laurel High School Class of 1942. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper for L. B. Brittingham. She had been a member of Trinity United Methodist Church for over 70 years. She treasured being a farm wife and mother and loved serving her church. She will always be remembered for her kind, gentle spirit.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, May 22 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Trinity United Methodist Church. 17429 Phillips Hill Rd. Laurel, DE, with a service to follow at 3:00 pm. Interment will be held on Monday, May 23 at 10:00 am in Odd Fellows Cemetery Laurel, DE.
