Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ethel Freeman, 76, of West Monroe, LA will be at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 1, 2005, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel, West Monroe, LA. Rev. Charles Dupree will be officiating. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Calhoun, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Mrs. Freeman was born July 1, 1929 in Ouachita Parish and left us October 29, 2005 to be with her Savior after a short illness.
Mrs. Freeman was a lifelong resident of West Monroe and owned and operated Shipley Donut Shop for forty-two years. Mrs. Freeman was a member of New Chapel Hill Baptist Church of West Monroe and was an active member and Past Matron of Annie D. Bennett No. 181 order of the Eastern Star of West Monroe for thirty-four years.
She was preceded in death by her husband L.E. Freeman; two sons: James Roger and Teddy Richard, Sr. and one grandson Anthony Joseph Freeman.
Mrs. Freeman is survived by her brother Elbert E. "Cooter" Stennett and his wife Frances of Newport News, VA; her son David Earl Freeman and his wife Pam of West Monroe; grandchildren, Melissa and Dan Hoover of Monroe, Beth and Gray Risinger of West Monroe, D.J. and Danielle Freeman of West Monroe, James Rodger Jr. and Kelley Freeman of Dallas, TX, Joshua Slade Freeman of West Monroe, Teddy Richard Jr. and Katina Freeman of West Monroe and Victoria and Josh Cummings of West Monroe. She had twelve beloved great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews that will miss her deeply. Mrs. Freeman will be missed by many friends, loyal patrons, and her ever so faithful employees, and the many people who admired her hard work and dedication that made her business a Landmark in Monroe for so many years.
Pallbearers will be Paul Sturdivant, Steve Scott, Glen Roberson, Dewayne Stennett, George Camp, and Tommy Semmes, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Lewis White, Ronnie Moore, Kevin Roy, and Max Eldredge.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 8:00 PM Monday at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe.
