Mr. Freeman was co-owner of Shipley Donut Shop in Monroe and was owner of Rodger's Bar in West Monroe. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was of the Pentecostal faith and a member of the Am-Vets.

He was preceded in death by his father, L. E. Freeman; and one brother, Teddy Richard Freeman.

He was survived by his wife, Rose Ann Freeman of West Monroe; two sons, Jamie Freeman of Dallas, TX and Josh Freeman of West Monroe; his mother, Ethel Freeman of West Monroe; one brother, David Freeman and wife Pam of West Monroe; and 1 grandson.
