Mrs. Edith A. Johnston, wife of Joseph Johnston, died yesterday at Cohoes Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Plattsburgh, Mrs. Johnston, who was formerly Miss Edith Rock, had been a resident of Cohoes for the greater part of her life. She was a member of St. James' Methodist Church and took a prominent part in the activities of that congregation. Besides her husband, Mr. Johnston is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James Macauley and Miss Edith M. Johnston, both of Cohoes; a son, Corp. Carl W. Johnston of the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Riley, Kansas; a brother, James Rock of Cohoes and three sisters, Mrs. Fred Yiser, Mrs. Abraham Lambert, and Miss Florence E. Lepper, all of Waterford. The funeral will be held from the residence, 11 Conliss Avenue, Cohoes, tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be in Waterford Rural Cemetery.
