Joseph Johnston, 82, of Venice, Fla., died suddenly Saturday at his home. He was a former Cohoesier and was the father of Carl Johnston, Sr. of Cohoes.
Mr. Johnston retired several years ago from the Watervliet Arsenal where he was a member of the 29-Year Club. While a resident in Cohoes, he was active in the Masonic organization there.
In addition to his son, he also is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beth Johnston; two daughters, Mrs. James McCauley of Syracuse and Mrs. Chester LaDue of Troy, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Summers of Cohoes and Mrs. Warren Brower of Venice, Fla., several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
