THE HERALD LEADER; December 27, 1933. DEATHS – WAGUS. Mrs. Caroline Wagus, 83, pioneer resident of Marinette, passed away Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fred Schact, 916 Miller street, Marinette. Mrs. Wagus was born Sept. 27, 1850 in Germany and came direct to Marinette on Nov. 19, 1889. Mr. Wagus died nine years ago and since that time Mrs. Wagus has made her home with her daughter. Surviving sons and daughters are: Mrs. Fred Schact, Fred and Gust Wagus of Marinette and Mrs. Charles Salewskey, state road, Menominee, also twenty grand-children and seventeen great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 from the residence. The Rev. M.B. Leisman of the German M.E. church officiated. The body was placed in the Forest Home mausoleum and will be interred in the spring.
