L. T. Frnnklin, Who Died At Morristown Saturday
Mrs. L. T. Franklin died Saturday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. P. W. Gorrie, in Morristown, where she had resided since leaving Elysian a few years ago. The body was brought here for interment in Cedar Hill cemetery Monday afternoon.
Martha Lewis Franklin was born in Selma, Ind., October 20, 1850 and came to Minnesota with her parents, at the age of four. She spent her early life in Le Sueur, later living at Waterville, and before the death of her husband their home was near Lake Elysian, south of the village in Waseca County. In 1871 she was married to Luther Franklin and to this union were born four children, only one of whom, Mrs. Gorrie (Mertie) survives. Other relatives are three grandchildren, Dr. Franklin H. Gorrie, Pasadena, Calif., Elizabeth Grannhausen, Chillwolly, O., Donald Gorrie, St. Paul; and five great grandchildren, Declue, Douglas and David Gorrie, Pasadena; Jane Lou and Charles Frankln Grannhausen of Chillwolly, O. Three sisters and three brothers, all of California, also survive.
