Michael "Wobby" Lenoir was born on June 24, 1940 to Michael Sr. and Mary (Belgarde) Lenoir in Belcourt, North Dakota. He passed away on January 28, 2006, in Belcourt at the age of 65 years. He married Mary Janet Martin on September 4, 1964 in St. Ann's Catholic Church in Belcourt.

Michael worked as a carpenter and auto mechanic for many years and was a very talented man. There wasn't much he couldn't make or fix. He was a very skilled carpenter and mechanic and also knew quite a bit about plumbing and electrical work. He like to do woodworking in his spare time and work with leather and fabrics, making saddles. Wobby also built wagons and repaired just about anything that was brought to him.

He enjoyed listening to music, especially old country music like Hank Williams, Jim Reeves and Don Williams. He also loved to sing and play guitar. He had such a smooth, mellow voice that was always nice to listen to. Everyone who knew Wobby, knew he was a busy man. He always had projects that he was working on and always whistled while he worked. You could always tell he had something going on when he was whistling. Wobby was very proud of his grandchildren and was always teaching then new things and bragging about all of their accomplishments. He enjoyed going to the casino to have a few beers with his family and friends and was well known by the staff there. He will be lovingly missed by all of his family and friends and everyone who ever had the good fortune to meet him.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, Mary Janet Lenoir of Belcourt; sons, Mike Lenoir and Curtis Lenoir, both of Belcourt; Michelle Brien of Belcourt; five grandchildren, Curtis Lenoir Jr., Aaron Lenoir, Eric Lenoir whom Michael and Mary helped raise, Caitlin Lenoir and Ojawanoo Brien; brother, Francis "Pugs" Lenoir of Belcourt; and sisters, Maria Boyer of Belcourt and Betty Jones of Portland, Oregon.
