He was the son of Robert Anderson "Bob" and Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" (Sisk) Ables and married Gertrude Whitaker - 26 Dec 1922 - Lincoln Co., Tennessee. His obituary follows:


Funeral Services Held Wednesday Afternoon For Roy Bledsoe Ables --


Funeral services for Roy Bledsoe Ables, 72, of the Harms community, were conducted at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon at the Higgins Funeral Home here. Eugene Peden and Clark Kelly officiated, and burial was in Riverview Memorial Gardens.


Mr. Ables died early Tuesday morning at his home, following an apparent heart attack.


A native of Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Robert and Mary Sisk Ables. He was a member of the Harms Church of Christ where he served as deacon.


Mr. Ables was a member of the Lincoln County Quarterly Court for ten years, and formerly served as road commissioner for the county. At the time of his death, he was engaged in farming in the Harms community.


Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gertrude Whitaker Ables of Harms; a sister, Mrs. James Hill of Huntsville, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.
