Wally was born on August 6, 1933, in Sheboygan, son of the late Walter and Hilda (Tasche) Woepse. He attended Manitowoc public schools. On March 22, 1958, Wally was married to Faith Halverson at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church. Wally drove semi trucks for the Geo Clark Transit and Leichts Transfer retiring in 1994. He was a member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, the Teamsters Union and a former 25 year member of the Newton Volunteer Fire Department. Wally enjoyed a good time and loved spending time with is family especially his two granddaughters.
Survivors include his wife, Faith Woepse, Manitowoc; his three children and their spouses, Barb (Jim) Buth, Sun Prairie; Jim (Sue) Woepse, Manitowoc; Beth (JR) Wagner, Manitowoc; two granddaughters, Jenna Woepse, Green Bay; Kendra Woepse, Appleton; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter (Hilda) Woepse; one brother, James Woepse; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward "Manny" (Hildagarde) Halverson; one brother-in-law, William "Lee" Halverson.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2012, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 11306 Wehausen Road, Manitowoc. The Rev. Gregory Pope will officiate, with burial to follow at Knollwood Memorial Gardens
