Mrs. Douglas Gilbert, who had been ill for the past eight weeks from paralysis, passed away about 6 o'clock Saturday evening at her late home, 1203 West First street. The funeral services will be held at the Christian church tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. The remains can be viewed by the friends at the home from 10 a.m. to 12 Tuesday.

Funeral of Mrs. Gilbert
Services Held at Christian Church This Afternoon
Funeral services for the late Mrs. Douglas Gilbert were held at the Christian church at 2 o'clock this afternoon at which, despite the cold and disagreeable weather there was a good attendance of friends of the deceased. The services were conducted by Rev. B. W. Salmon, pastor. Guy Smith sang the solo "The Holy city," and the church choir the hymn, "I Shall See My Savior's Face." Mr. Salmon is said to have delivered a very fine address for the occasion. He also read a biographical sketch of the departed as follows:
Ida May Pringey was born in Bloomington, Il., December 31, 1858. On January 11, 1883, she was married to Douglas Gilbert. To this union two children, a son and daughter, were born; Fred C., now residing at Central City, and Bessie Florence, still at home.
Twenty-two years ago Mrs. Gilbert united with the Christian church at Alda, being baptized in Wood River, afterward transferring her membership to the First Christian church of Grand Island, in which she remained a faithful member and earnest worker till the close of her life. She had lived in Hall county for twenty-five years.
Mrs. Gilbert was an earnest Christian and a devoted wife and faithful mother. She had the joy of seeing the fruition of her teaching in that both her children became Christians, and are following in the footsteps of their mother.
Mrs. Gilbert passed from this world Saturday, Jan 13, 1912, about 6 o'clock in the evening, retiring from the toils of this life just as most people were retiring from the toils of the day and its tasks, not to mourn but to press forward to the day of reunion in the presence of the King.
Besides her husband and the two children already mentioned, she leaves two brothers, Joseph C. and George Pringey, of Kendrick, Okla., and four sisters, Mrs. Sarah Craig, of Benedict, Kan., Mrs. Catherine Young, of Manhattan, Kan., Mrs. A. V. Hesser, of Binger, Okla., and Mrs. H. C. Nichols, of West Liberty, Ia.
